Overall objective
The central objective of the project is achieving strengthened energy efficiency and security in the Baltic Sea Region through the introduction of coherent energy management at the local and regional level. A sustainable energy concept will support the local decision makers in establishing safe, economical and environmentally friendly energy supply. This allows municipalities to identify strengths, weaknesses and potentials for improvement and above all implement measures for enhancing energy efficiency in public buildings.
That way the project will contribute to promoting the necessary conditions for sustainable economic and social development in the Baltic Sea Region.
Specific objectives
The specific objectives are:
- Establishing and/or improving the administrative, institutional and organisational structures
- Increasing municipal capacities for efficient energy management and energy controlling by developing energy/CO2 balances; energy saving estimations; a measurement catalogue, software, data base and methodologies according to the particular needs
- Supporting the establishment of an optimal energy supply structure
- Dissemination best practices and networking relevant stakeholders
