GTZ is a government-owned company for international cooperation with operations in more than 130 countries. Its mission is to support complex development and reform processes and contribute to global sustainable development.

Since the 1990s, GTZ has been actively involved in various international projects primarily in Central and East European. The collaboration with the European Commission and the knowledge gained in the various Twinning and grant projects led to a well-structured network within the research and public sector.
